There was cake! Cupcakes, but with candles--that counts! I got sung to and the five-year-old helped blow out the candles and lick the icing off the candles.
And the 13-year old asked for pie, after.
We keep storebought pumpkin pie on hand for when there's need for a sweet. Sprinkle on a little nutmeg and warm in the 'wave, it's a high-fiber, low-sugar, beta-carotene-ful treat. Or, you know, breakfast. Whatever. Pie!
