The new Foo Fighters song, "DOA"

My RWA chapter. I've never belonged to one before, and CNYRW rocks.

Libba Bray's Rebel Angels. The stakes are higher, the London-at-Christmastime detail are atmospheric, and the realms are scarier.

Basketball leagues for kids. Went to Ben's second game this morning (my first, since I missed last weekend due to my Tampa trip) and it was awesome! The kids really hustle, and Ben scored a basket. Cool.

The "mellow and slightly melancholy" CD I made last week-ish. Starts off with Stevie Nicks's "Sleeping Angel" which takes me right back to Fast Times at Ridgmont High, but is still a gorgeous, mournful song. I miss Stevie.

Also? It's Saturday. Which doesn't suck.

Email away, baby -- but just FYI, I will be in NYC Monday morning through Wednesday around five-ish, and probably without a means to check email. So if it seems like I'm not replying, I will when I get home.

I'm not in trouble, am I?

Hee! How could you be in trouble???

And I know you'll be in NYC! I saw Deb today, which is related to why I want to e-mail you. I was picking her brain, and she thought it might be a good idea to pull you in too. Aw, hell. I'll just go e-mail you right now. Schoolwork, shmoolwork!

Did you finish Rebel Angels? I read it last week, and -- LOVE! Libba Bray kicks ass. There was one bit that seemed really predictable (to me), and she put a twist on it that make me laugh with joy when I read it.

So. Damn. Good. I even had a dream last week that I was recommending to [livejournal.com profile] sathinks that she should read AGaTB. I get obsessed easily. But this is a worthy obsession!

I intend to finish it tonight, because I'm nearly done and don't want to lug it on the train with me tomorrow (NYC! Deb! Another old friend! My editor!). Also, don't have nearly enough to go to *last* the train ride, or the train back Wednesday (five-ish hours each way).

I'm worried about Miss McCleethy, which is where my mind went when you said "predictable" and I've been hoping for a twist, so I'll take your word that there will be joy. Loving it so completely anyway -- Libba really does the teenage angst thing beautifully.

Of course, now I have to figure out what I have lying around to read on the train instead...
