My improbable jetsetting ways continue!
Mar. 18th, 2009 06:32 pmTomorrow I'm off to Seattle to see many people I love dearly -- some of whom I haven't met in person yet! Very exciting.
If this continues (although, you know, it won't, unless I win the lottery or finally find a sugar daddy), I could start a blog called The Reluctant Traveler. Not that I'm reluctant to *be* in the places I go to, but I'm not the most laid-back person ever when it comes to the actual *travel* part. (Cue rant about discrimination against us poor, hapless, stupid smokers.)
I have learned a lot about how to pack for five days in a single carry-on suitcase, though. I hate to check bags. It's all about one or two pair of shoes that go with everything! And napping on the plane is never a problem for me, either, but man, I feel for people with extra long legs who are either not in first class or in a bulkhead seat. I'm only 5'4" and the leg room is hard for *me* after two hours.
So, off to the Pacific Northwest for fun, frivolity, flailing, and ... other things that start with F, I guess. (Except that one. Jesus, people.) Back later Monday night ... with a full report sometime Tuesday when I'm less jet-lagged.

Date: 2009-03-18 11:29 pm (UTC)Also, I used to be a traveller like you (except for the smoking), but travelling with kids cured me. Now when I get the chance to travel alone, the plane could crash and -- as long as everyone survived! -- I'd still think, "well, that was easier than flying with a toddler."

Date: 2009-03-19 02:26 am (UTC)Looks like the weather is going to be decent through the weekend. Highs in the 60's and partly to mostly sunny.
it really doesn't rain all the time here
