With all the talk of books today (go [livejournal.com profile] paperdol!), I realized that the mass market edition of I Love You to Death was released on February 6. If you haven't read it, and you want to, now you can get it cheaper!

It's my first mass market release, which is cool (the others have all been in trade) and it's got a brand-new cover, too. Yay!

It's cute, huh? A little too similar to Room Service for comfort, but whatEV.

Yes and no. At least the guy in the Room Service cover isn't carrying a "box" ala the Justin Timberlake skit... ;)

Aw! Thanks, babe! I hope you like it -- I'm always so apprehensive about friends reading my work than random strangers or reviewers. It does have some good sex scenes, though. ;-)

I just followed your handy dandy clicky link, thank you. Something to read on the plane to South Africa in a couple of weeks.

Yay! Although reports of my brilliance have been greatly exaggerated. ;-)

Remember, though -- I don't know Philly all that well. I keep meaning to tell you that! I was born in Wilmington, DE, and lived there until I was eight, and we lived in Bucks County for almost ten years, but I rarely got into Philly (because I was working in NYC most of that time). Actually, I was in Philly most often to take Ben to Children's Hospital about his bum foot when he was a baby.

I don't know why I'm blathering about this now -- you mentioned your guy and Philly recently and I kept meaning to reply and then didn't. Attention span of a gnat, that's me.

Okay, 'splainy. What's the difference between trade and mass market?

Also, wheeeee! Pretty cover!

Mass market are the usual paperback size (5" x 7" or so), trades are the bigger paperbacks (think Oprah books). Mass market is $6.99 (or $7.99 now) and trades are anywhere from $12 and up. Even with the higher price point, trades aren't printed in the same volume, and the lower price point encourages more people to buy, so... It's a good thing.

OK, everything about that cover works. What really kicks it over the top for me is the typeface they used for your name.

It is cute, isn't it? Of course, since I haven't been able to get to B&N since the snow started, I have no idea what they have in stock or if it's displayed with the Valentine's Day stuff (which I think was the idea behind reissuing it this month). Only one store, of course -- it was nice to hear from java that she found it at a store in Philly.

After everything that's gone on with Kensington, it would be nice to see some kind of royalty one day.

I should be passing at least one chain bookstore out there today - do you want me to see if it's already in, and let you know?

Date: 2007-02-13 04:30 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] amy37.livejournal.com
Sure, if you're going in anyway.

You got it. I can sip a foofy drink from Starbucks and wander over to the front tables and make noise at them if it isn't there.

You know that with Borders if you check their store locations feature, you can see if it's in stock in various stores and how many they have, right?

YAY!

Enjoying the new cover. Pre-move this weekend I was reading the trade copy..currently emerged in the coffeeshop section. Love the story and characters. My 19 yr old cousin nabbed it off the shelf first and returned it with a, "wow, this was really good. kind of steamy, too!" LOL.
