Odds and ends
Feb. 13th, 2006 05:18 pmWe have a winner of the signed book contest -- Alyssa H. of Utah. Yay! Thanks for entering, everyone. Will post more contests in the months to come...
I just had to give my driver's license to purchase PediaCare decongestant for Sara, buy it at the pharmacy counter, and sign for it. Those meth-makers are really making it inconvenient for the rest of us, let me tell you.
(Although, how much crystal meth can you really make with a 15 ml bottle of cherry-flavored infant drops? Shouldn't they be monitoring bulk purchases? Should they be monitoring purchases at all? I once made a very effective bong out of an apple, but no one's at the grocery store asking what you intend to do with the fruit.)
Starting to push into the deadline for the next Brava book. Had a mini-panic last night, just before Grey's Anatomy, in which I decided I didn't remember how to write books, I had no plot, and I had no idea who my characters were. That was fun. I think I'm past it today, although I've done more note-taking and brain-jiggling than actual writing.
Grey's Anatomy...well, I won't spoil those of you who haven't seen it, but it's a good thing I like so many of the characters. Because the realism quotient on this show is pretty frigging low. Why do I always assume that a "medical" show (air quotes intended) is going to be more realistic, more "true" than something like Desperate Housewives? It's a puzzle.

Date: 2006-02-13 10:30 pm (UTC)Yeah. "A show in a hospital." I'll have to remember that. Even House is getting to me on that front. With him, I guess it's "modern-day Sherlock Holmes in a hospital." He's even got the drugg addiction!

He's hot.

Date: 2006-02-14 01:02 am (UTC)Get out of my brain. That's been MY panic all weekend. I've started two different things and tinkered with two other existing things and have decided that all things Suck. Like. A. Thing. That. Sucks. I can't remember how to write. At all.
Bah.

Date: 2006-02-14 02:03 am (UTC)We should totally have a weekend to recharge and dish and laugh and drink and shop. Together!
Take a breath, if you can. Is anything due right now? If not, walk away for a day or two instead of forcing it.
Plus, you *do* know how to write. And very well, I might add.
*smooch*

Date: 2006-02-14 05:05 am (UTC)Nothing's due right now, but I'm trying to put together the proposal for the next YA, completed manuscript which is due May 1, which right now seems really far away, but I know really isn't. However, I did force myself to walk away from everything and just watch skaters and snowboarders and guys in tight unitards that expose what religion they are.
And a weekend together to recharge and dish and laugh and drink and shop sounds LOVELY. I'm already looking at my schedule and trying to figure out when the next NY pilgrimage is. Probably early fall at this point. We shall plot and plan and connive. *smooch*
And thank you! *smoochies again*
