The food meme.
I should say right off the bat that I grew up in the '70s, and in a canned green bean, Wonderbread, Frosted Flake, Cambell's soup casserole paradise. My mom has lupus, and back then she had serious back issues -- she'd had surgery twice, which in the '70s was a lot more onerous than it is now (not that it's easy now, mind you). She wasn't a particularly inspired cook, and she didn't have a lot of energy for it. Now, of course, she's all about the fresh veggies and fruit, and low carb this and whole wheat that, but not so when my brother and I were growing up. So my palate was trained early on to love the bland, or the sugary, or the fake.
I'm also a sucktastic cook, unless I have a lot of time and no one bothering me, and while I like to bake, I can't do that under pressure, either.
( Prepared foods I prefer to the real thing )
( Prepared foods I'm convinced are just as good )
( Packaged foods which I will never let past my threshold )
