Happy merry to all...

We're enjoying a completely mellow Christmas Day here -- case in point, Sara and I took a two-hour nap together.

Presents have been opened -- Sara was a bit overwhelmed by her loot, and Ben is dancing around the house listening to his iPod Shuffle, which Stephen insisted was the perfect gift for him. Apparently he was right. Jake has a new skateboard and is only halfway cranky that the drizzly rain and melting snow outside are preventing him from trying it out.

Dinner is almost in the oven, although we have nary a Christmas cookie to eat -- I couldn't work up the energy yesterday, in the eleventh hour, and decided not to feel guilty about it. There is store-bought pecan pie, which I'm looking forward to.

I'm counting my gifts -- the big ones, like family and friends and a warm house and good food -- right now, and they're my greatest sustenance. That said, the Season 1 Veronica Mars DVDs didn't hurt *cough*.
